One of the delights of our shared faith is to meet together in God’s house.
It is important that the fabric and facilities of our church enable us to concentrate on glorifying God and all that he has given to us, without any worldly distractions. So, we do all that we can to keep our churches comfortable and a place that we can enjoy and share.
Every year, we incur expenses running the church, Council Tax, water, gas, electricity, repairs, flowers for the altar, not to mention care of our Priest, and so on. So, we have to raise money to pay for these essentials.
One important element of the income of the church is the offerings that you make each week when you attend Mass. We ask you to be as generous as you can, but no one should give more than they can afford. You may be aware of the Gift Aid scheme.
You can choose to allow us to tell the Inland Revenue that you give to the church regularly, and providing you pay tax, for every £1.00 that you give to the church, the government will refund to the church the 20p you have paid in tax on that £1.00!
That is of great benefit to us, and costs you nothing, over and above what you choose to give.
If you are interested in joining this scheme, see your Parish Treasurer.
We thank you for your
